The A-Team (2010):

The film starts in the middle of an operation in Mexico where Hannibal and Face wind up running into and recruiting Baracus and Murdock. Once united, they're an unbeatable team, so when a nigh-impossible job needs doing while U.S. troops are pulling out of Iraq, they're brought in. As anyone who watched the old show can tell you, the job was a setup and the team is framed. They break out and set about clearing their names, with many, many, many ridiculous and awesome hijinks along the way. The script is solid, and the dialogue both entertains and helps us get to know and like the characters. "The A-Team" is a perfect summer movie. It's funny, lighthearted, entertaining, and a great way to spend a couple hours out of the heat. It's not intellectual, educational, or even realistic, but it is a heck of a lot of fun. If that's the kind of movie you like, do not miss it and be sure to stay after the credits, especially if you're a fan of the original show. SALT(2o1o)

Angelina Jolie stars as a CIA operative on the run in the spy thriller Edwin A. Salt, a Columbia Pictures production from writer Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium). Actor/director Phillip Noyce helms the picture, which focuses on the plight of a government agent who's been wrongly accused of being a Russian assassin out to take down the U.S. president.

Shutter Island(2o1o):

The movie fits into the suspense-thriller genre, as the story revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a patient at a criminal asylum. The main protagonist, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) are given the charge of investigating the matter. But the scene at the asylum seemed far from welcoming. In the meanwhile, Daniels also has to confront the asylum’s top two doctors (Ben Kingsley and Max Von Sydow). The atmosphere at the asylum turns more and more mysterious and evading as he seeks to find answers, thus blurring the chances of unfolding the truth. However, he finally manages to realize that all the facts are still hidden within the asylum itself. This is an experience that would pin you up to your seats with its chilling suspense and a thrilling climax. The turns and twists in the narration has been well picturised and the director certainly deserves a round of applause for his skills. The cast cannot be far behind with spectacular performances from DiCaprio, Ruffalo, Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Emily Mortimer, Patricia Clarkson and Von Sydow.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice:

A Nightmare on Elm Street :

The story is much the same as the original. In Springwood,a group of teens begin experiencing the same sort of nightmares, their nocturnal thoughts all invaded by a badly burned man wearing a knife infused glove. You know his name – Freddy Krueger – a school janitor at a kindergarten who innocently loves children. Okay, so you know that he doesn’t innocently love children and when his dark secret comes out, the parents of Springwood hunt for justice, leaving the man full of vengeance, deep burns, and the same implausible dream-powers of the original.

The origin is toyed with slightly – there is more depth to Krueger’s backstory, with some twists and turns that tease a little bit but, by the end, make the right choices in terms of Freddy’s characters. His victims are all attractive members of the same kindergarten who have since been separated to block out the memories, though many of them become friends again in High School, when the nightmares begin. The remake gives more focus to Kris (Katie Cassidy) to the point you begin to think she’ll be taking of the heroine role. Never fear, stalwart fans, Nancy is the focus here after Bayer dangles the very attractive Kris in our faces for awhile, toying with your expectations.
